About the project
The design was inspired by the notion of a trip to the sea. A flexible non-finite form that gives the impression that moves through a fluid, through water or air.
The complex consists of two buildings the main 8-storey and the secondary 3-storey that will accommodate 3 shipping companies with their supporting facilities such as Amphitheater, Restaurant, Simulators, Training area, Gym located in the above ground stories and the first basement and additional 3 stories of underground Parking Space.
The exterior areas are covered with low and medium vegetation and water surfaces that help to minimize the consumption of energy used for air conditioning and improve the microclimate.
The project uses geothermal energy with high efficient heat pumps. A main design decision was using a large portion of locally resource materials, which on one hand has a positive influence on the environment resulting from shorter routes of transportation and on the other hand help the local economy.
